I’m uploading documents to skydrive and I can find ways to get the public urls for the files but they are round about. Then I generally use Google URL shortener to make them readable. Are there some quick ways to generate short urls for publicly shared files?
I’m not working with skydrive pro–not sure if that makes a difference. If you have urls to helpful articles–please share.
I created a workflow in SkyDrive to send an email notification, and in that notification I can append all sorts of detail about the document uploaded, including URL. Maybe that solution will work? In SkyDrive pro in Office 365, you can add the app part for NinTex which is free and use that to assist in the creation of workflows for SharePoint. I don’t know your exact circumstance, but that may be helpful as well.
