Hi everyone,
I have a question for all of you and I value your opinion: I am looking to put my name in as a speaker for Collab Global Conference. They are only allowing a single submission and as I have a few items in my tickle trunk I would like your opinion on what I am presenting. Quick little blurb about myself. I am a Office Servers and Services MVP specializing in SharePoint. Most of my presentations are for on-prem, but can also be used in O365. Anyways, here are what I currently have. Let me know what you think would be of interest to you if you don’t mind.
Leading Practices for Planning and Implementing a SharePoint Environment
There are many best practices for creating a SharePoint farm. But something not covered often enough and just as important is how to plan the farm implementation even before you install the binaries. In this session we will see some pitfalls taken by businesses as we discuss the leading practices of planning and implementing the non-technical side of SharePoint. We will cover items from who should be involved to proof-of-concepts to SharePoint Governance.
Playing Outside Your Sandbox. Interacting with other systems using SharePoint BCS
Business Connectivity Services (BCS) is probably one of the most versatile and powerful features of SharePoint. It can also be one of the most under-utilized. Join me today as I provide an overview of the BCS system and show you how easy it is to integrate with external systems without writing a single line of code. I will cover topics like External Content types, External Lists, user impersonation using the SharePoint Secure Store system and much more..
Playing Further Outside Your Sandbox. Advanced Concepts and Processes with SharePoint BCS
Building on the first presentation, we will cover more advanced concepts within SharePoints BCS system. Features including integrating SharePoint Search with BCS External Content Types to search into non-SharePoint data sources and Associations are just a couple of the topics we will cover. I will show you some of the true power in using SharePoint to leverage and present the data contained in your LOB systems that will make your own daily processes more efficient.
Putting the Share back into SharePoint
What is the first thing that people think of when they think of SharePoint? Sharing and collaboration of your information. However, as many may have found; this can be easier said than done. Microsoft has provided tools within its most recent release of SharePoint to make this easier to accomplish, but one of the things I still hear from so many end users is “it is still so hard to share my documents with others”. In this session I plan to discuss why this is still a pain point within SharePoint and what you can do to put the “SHARE” back into SharePoint.
Thanks in advance for your input.
Dave
Thanks Mark and Andre. I was considering the BCS submissions as the first one has been done at a few SPS events and went over well. To anyone joining this discussion, I decided to enter my advanced BCS presentation.
